A jumbo drop test vehicle, or JDTV, is loaded onto a C-17 Globemaster III at Edwards Air Force Base, California. The 77,000-pound JDTV flew over the Yuma Testing Grounds in Arizona and tested parachutes for NASA's Ares I launch vehicle's solid rocket booster. The flight set a record for the heaviest single load dropped out of a C-17.
