Glovebox. Astronaut Catherine G. Coleman working at a glovebox (at centre left) on the starboard side of the United States Microgravity Laboratory (USML-2) on the Space Shuttle Columbia during Mission STS-73. Due to the weightlessness felt by astronauts in Earth-orbiting shuttles, Coleman is using her feet and legs to anchor herself in position on her seat. Coleman did research as a mission specialist whilst aboard the shuttle. The shuttle's crew of seven used the USML-2 to conduct research into fluid physics, materials science, biotechnology, combustion science and commercial space processing techniques. Mission STS-73 lasted from 20 October to 5 November 1995.
