Male giant cuttlefish (Sepia apama) performing courtship displays. They are competing for the attention of the females. The giant cuttlefish is native to southern Australia and it is the world's largest cuttlefish species. Males change the colour of their skin to impress the females by dilating or contracting pigment cells called chromatophores. Photographed in the Spencer Gulf, Whyalla, Australia.
