Chamberlin Observatory. This observatory, located in Denver, Colorado, USA, was built from 1890 and began operating in 1894. It was constructed from rusticated red sandstone blocks, topped with a dome that houses the 20-inch refracting telescope. It is named for the businessman, Humphrey B. Chamberlin, who financed the building of the observatory. The observatory is now maintained by Denver University as a historic site, operating as a museum and providing public education in astronomy. A rehabilitation program has been in operation since the 1990s, carrying out repairs and restoration work.
