Blurred sight caused by myopia. Street scene as it would appear to a myopic (short- sighted) person. Myopia causes light to be focused on a point in front of the retina, rather than on the retina itself, and is usually due to the eyeball becoming elongated. This means distant objects appear blurred. Sight can be corrected with glasses or contact lenses, or, in severe cases, surgery. For an image showing how someone with normal vision would view this scene, see P420/596.
