Red campion (Silene dioica) flowers. Red campion flowers are bright pink in colour with five petals deeply notched at the end. Its leaves are hairy and grow in opposite pairs. This species is an ancient woodland indicator. Traditional medicines used red campion seeds to treat snakebites. Photographed in Dorset, UK in May.
