Qafzeh human remains. Fossilised human bones from the Qafzeh cave site in Nazareth, Israel. This may be a ritual burial of a mother with her child (bottom). These bones are thought to be around 90,000-100,000 years old, and are some of the earliest known examples of Homo sapiens sapiens, anatomically modern humans.
