Mary Wollstonecraft, 18th century English teacher, writer and feminist. A writer with radical political views on a range of issues fincluding women's rights, education, slavery and the treatment of the poor, Mary Wollstonecraft (1759-1797) was the wife of the writer William Godwin and mother of the author Mary Shelley. After a portrait by the English painter John Opie (1761-1807).
