These exclusive pictures illustrate the celebrations which took place in connection with the silver jubilee of the Trubhubana Bis Vikram Sah, 31-year-old King of Nepal, who came to the throne in 1911. The whole capital put on Gala attire and tens of thousands of subjects watched the parade of jewelled elephants and the entire army in review. These pictures were taken by special invitation in the capital, Kathmandu. Photo shows, the Prime Minister, Sir Joodha Shumshere Jung Bahadur Rana, greeted by Mr R Kilburn, only European in the Nepal government service as he arrives for review. 30 April 1937
