A striking example of how sheep grazing affects moorland vegetation. This shot is taken above Megget Reservoir near Broad Law in the Southern Uplands of Scotland. On the right of the fence is a nature reserve where sheep are excluded. The natural moorland vegetation is lush with heather, bilberry and assorted moorland plants. On the left of the fence where sheep graze, the vegetation is denuded.
